Tokyo Reports 4,562 New Cases Of Coronavirus

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported 4,562 new cases of coronavirus infection on Monday.

The daily tally is up by 178 from a week ago. Officials also reported two deaths.

The seven-day average through Monday stands at about 7,596. That's 99.9 percent of the figure for the previous seven-day period.

Meanwhile, the number of seriously ill patients who are on a ventilator or an ECMO heart-lung machine in the capital stands at 28, down one from Sunday.
