2021 Nissan Rogue Teased In Preparation For Next Week's Reveal

2021 Nissan Rogue teased in preparation for next week's reveal

The leaks were accurate. Nissan just teased the 2021 Nissan Rogue in its most revealing photo yet, and the crossover looks just like the one that was shown in some blurry photos a couple months ago.

We can make out the details better in this new photo due to its high resolution, and it shows a new stacked headlight design coming to the Rogue. The thin light on top appears to house the LED DRLs, and then the bottom fixture contains the regular headlights and high beams. Others have implemented stacked headlight designs as of late, with the most prominent being Hyundai crossovers. The grille is standard Nissan V-Motion design. It's just much larger than the old one, with a large, black mesh area and prominent chrome surround. The design is much bolder than the current Rogue's styling.

'gran Turismo 7' Revealed For Playstation 5

'Gran Turismo 7' revealed for PlayStation 5

During Sony's PlayStation 5 livestream, the company showed a gameplay trailer of "Gran Turismo 7," the latest installment in the driving simulation video game series from Polyphony Digital. The lengthy trailer featured racing gameplay and signs that the game is returning to its roots.

The previous game in the series, "Gran Turismo Sport," took a different approach, focusing on online multiplayer and competition, over past game's focus on single-player races, challenges and collecting of cars. In this trailer, there are shots of a large campaign or career mode menu much like what was used in "Gran Turismo 4," one of the largest games in the series as far as content is concerned. This suggests that there will be an enormous car roster and many single player events. The creator and head of Polyphony Digital, Kazunori Yamauchi, said during the presentation that old fans of the series should be excited at the new campaign mode, supporting this hypothesis.

Yamaha Developing Turbocharged Motorcycle Engines

Yamaha developing turbocharged motorcycle engines

Car companies have glorified turbocharging as the ideal way to reduce an engine's fuel consumption and exhaust emissions without compromising its power, and motorcycle manufacturers are beginning to adopt this solution. Yamaha is reportedly developing a range of turbo engines that will power several bikes in the coming years.

Yamaha engineers began developing turbocharging technology in 2017, according to Motorcycle News. The company experimented with two layouts: One put the turbo inside the exhaust, which is an unusual configuration, and the other put it close to the exhaust manifold, which is the arrangement commonly seen in the automotive industry. It sounds like Yamaha chose the second, more conventional solution for cost and packaging reasons.

Junkyard Gem: 1982 Subaru Gl 4wd Wagon

Junkyard Gem: 1982 Subaru GL 4WD Wagon

As a junkyard aficionado living in Denver, I get regular opportunities to study the history of the Pleiades-badged brand every time I hit the IMPORTS section at one of my local yards. You won't find any Subaru 360s in U-Wrench yards these days (I haven't seen a discarded 360 since the early 1980s), but I still find plenty of Malaise-Era Subarus from the period during which they were mocked for their small size in novelty songs. Here's a seriously loaded (by early-1980s standards) 1982 Subaru Leone four-wheel-drive wagon, found last fall in a yard just south of Denver.

1k - Mile Honda S2000 Up For Auction On Bring A Trailer

1k-mile Honda S2000 up for auction on Bring a Trailer

The Honda S2000 roadster has begun to catch fire with collectors, and this example currently up for auction on Bring a Trailer will only fan the flames. It has just over 1,000 miles on the odometer, making it effectively a new car.

This 2007-model S2000 is an AP2-generation car from the penultimate year of production. This one is Silverstone Metallic with a black leather interior and a black power top. The 2.2-liter F22C1 VTEC inline-four has an 8,000-rpm redline and makes 237 horsepower. It's backed by a six-speed stick shift and a Torsen limited-slip differential. The seller acquired the car from the original owner in Texas last year. Although this S2000 doesn't appear to have any immediate needs, the new owner may be happy to know that Honda has begun remanufacturing parts for the S2000.

Acura Rdx Driveway Test | How Does A Stroller Fit?

Acura RDX Driveway Test | How does a stroller fit?

From the people who brought you the Luggage Test, it's the Stroller Test! I know, sequels, right?

However, as someone who was recently in the market for a stroller and didn't want to buy a new/gigantic family vehicle to accommodate it (not to mention needing to potentially store it in every vehicle currently sold), knowing how big strollers were and how they might fit in cars was important.

Nissan Rogue Sport Spied Covered In Camo From Atop A Tree

Nissan Rogue Sport spied covered in camo from atop a tree

Nissan has teased the next Rogue Sport already, but today marks the small crossover's spy shot debut. Named the Qashqai in other markets, the Rogue Sport is one of Nissan's small, budget crossovers. It stands above the tiny Kicks, but is smaller and cheaper than the regular Rogue.

In case you're wondering why some of the photos have some green, blurry leaf marks on them, it's because our spy photographer literally scaled a tree to capture the shots on a test track that was certainly walled off with tons of security. Sure, it's a lot of work to capture a car as boring as the Nissan Rogue Sport, but we appreciate the effort nonetheless.

Mazda Rx - 7 Threatened By Floodwaters Gets Help From A Stranger

Mazda RX-7 threatened by floodwaters gets help from a stranger

With Tropical Storm Cristobal charting a path for the Gulf Coast, a Biloxi, Mississippi, local named Khuong Nguyen wanted to get his FD-series Mazda RX-7 out of the storm — the coupe had some bad seals that would let in rain. He parked the orange and black coupe in the bottom story of a parking garage at the city's Golden Nugget Casino, which kept the rain from getting in. But Cristobal came on stronger than expected, creating a new threat of water from below when the parking garage began to flood. Austin Owens, a Gulfport resident about 10 miles from Biloxi, saw photos of the RX-7 with water up to its rockers on a local Cars and Coffee page. As he would later tell Jalopnik, the RX-7 being one of Owens' dream cars, he decided he needed to rescue it. Just to make sure we're all on the same page, a young man braved a tropical storm in his own vehicle to save a stranger's RX-7 in another city.

Owens dragooned a friend and hopped in a Ford Bronco, dodging closed roads and fording three or four feet of water on open roads. They drove to Home Depot to pick up cinder blocks, then headed to the Golden Nugget parking garage. As Owens and his friend arrived, they met Nguyen and a couple of his friends pulling Nguyen's second car, a Ferrari 360, out of the garage on a trailer. The RX-7 had already been set on wood blocks, thin bricks, and some orange wheel chocks, but the stilt job wasn't high enough in front; the water in parts of the garage was knee deep. Owens jacked up the RX-7 to get the cinder blocks under the front wheels; the rear end was fine, due to the slope of the garage floor. Success. As one of Nguyen's friends told Jalopnik, Owens' actions "did give us adequate time to combat the rising water."

2020 Honda Jazz First Drive | What's New, Next - Generation Honda Fit, Hybrid

2020 Honda Jazz First Drive | What's new, next-generation Honda Fit, hybrid

With roughly 7.5 million sold in 20 years, it's safe to say people love the Honda Fit, or as it's called in Europe and elsewhere, the Jazz. "Elsewhere" would be the key term since Honda's versatile subcompact hatchback is not only sold all over the world, it has also been built in 10 plants in eight different countries, including China, where the authorities were so honored to have a Fit factory within their borders, they allowed Honda an unprecedented larger share in the joint venture.

A major reason is safety, which was highlighted from the very beginning. I attended the original launch at Honda's Tochigi R&D center in Japan, which started with a crash test. The 2,535-pound Fit was subjected to an offset impact with a six-year-old, 4,030-pound Honda Legend sedan at a closing speed of 62 mph. When our ears stopped ringing, the Fit's crash-test dummy passengers were shaken but intact, the doors opened and the passenger cell retained its shape. The Legend's passengers didn't fare so well, with the pedal box detaching from the firewall taking the driver dummy's feet with it.

Lexus Postpones 2021 Is Debut Indefinitely

Lexus postpones 2021 IS debut indefinitely

The new 2021 Lexus IS sports sedan was scheduled to make its debut today, but Lexus has made the decision to postpone the digital unveiling indefinitely. Lexus cites respect for "the recent global situation" as the reasoning for the postponement.

This week, Lexus released a simple statement on the digital debut of the 2021 IS. "Considering the recent global situation, Lexus has respectfully postponed the premier of the new IS, which was originally scheduled for 8:00 a.m. Japan Standard Time, June 10," it said. "Revised timing will be announced soon." With worldwide outpouring of civil protests in regards to the death of George Floyd, police brutality and the movement for police reform — all in the midst of a pandemic — it seems like a malapropos time to unveil a new car.
