Adk, Dentsu Group Companies Raided Over Alleged Tokyo Games Bid - Rigging

ADK, Dentsu group companies raided over alleged Tokyo Games bid-rigging

Investigators probing alleged bid-rigging involving test events for last year's Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics have raided more targets, including two group companies of major Japanese advertising agencies.

Tokyo prosecutors and the Japan Fair Trade Commission on Tuesday searched the offices of ADK Marketing Solutions and Dentsu Live, and other locations.

Investigators are focusing on 26 biddings held by the Games' organizing committee in 2018 to choose businesses that would be commissioned to plan the test events for the Summer Games.

They have already searched the head offices of six companies that took part in the biddings, including Dentsu and Hakuhodo.

Investigators suspect the bids were fixed, and that the organizing committee played a role.

They have found that the committee had made a list, with help from Dentsu, of businesses likely to join the biddings.
