Today Is Subaru 'national Make A Dog's Day,' Where Dealers Act As Adoption Centers

Today is Subaru 'National Make a Dog's Day,' where dealers act as adoption centers

Subaru declared October 22 "National Make A Dog's Day" a couple of years ago, because of course it did. Well guess what? Today is October 22, and Subaru is celebrating it once again in hopes that folks get out there and quite literally, make a dog's day.

How is this related to Subaru, you might ask? Well, the long-time dog-friendly car company has been holding adoption events at its dealerships throughout the month of October. It says over 600 dealerships have participated in either in-person or virtual events to get dogs from the shelter into loving homes. October isn't over yet, so look out for more in your area.

2021 Acura Tlx Long - Term Update | A Surprise Upgrade

2021 Acura TLX Long-Term Update | A surprise upgrade

That may look a lot like our long-term 2021 Acura TLX A-Spec, but in this case, your eyes deceive you. Say hello to our not-so-long-term TLX Type S, which is subbing in for the A-Spec while the latter undergoes a little exploratory surgery to diagnose what appears to be an escalating electrical issue.

Yes, our handsome blue steed is currently lame. What first manifested as odd transmission behavior and the occasional infotainment reboot escalated to the vehicular equivalent of a grand mal seizure on a rainy Michigan day, resulting in a flat-bed ride to the dealership and fast-tracking our plans to get the TLX in for a diagnosis.

2021 Honda Ridgeline Driveway Test | Is The Hpd Package Worth It?

2021 Honda Ridgeline Driveway Test | Is the HPD Package worth it?

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Support vehicles aren't supposed to get your attention, but that's exactly what a 2021 Honda Ridgeline did when I joined Honda for a local drive of the 2022 Civic Sedan. Painted in a bright white, accented by striking bronze wheels and tattooed with cool graphics, the Ridgeline made a lasting impression for more reasons than just serving up icy beverages from its under-bed cooler.

I've been a fan of the nameplate since one spent a year in the Autoblog long-term garage, and in particular since a memorable road trip with an Airstream trailer in tow. Our long-termer might have been handsome as well, but between the cosmetic updates made for every 2021 Ridgeline and this particular truck's new HPD package, there was now even more to appreciate. That support vehicle stuck with me, which is why I was so delighted to see a Ridgeline AWD Sport with the HPD package arrive in the driveway for a longer look.

Lexus Customizes 10 Cars As Characters From The Eternals

Lexus customizes 10 cars as characters from The Eternals

Lexus has vanda — uh, customized — ten cars to go along with "Eternals," the latest movie in the Marvel cinematic universe. Each vehicle has been chosen to represent one of ten heroes from the story, wrapped in colorful designs that Lexus says reflect their costumes and powers.

We suppose that if you're an immortal being that needs to be embodied in automotive form, a Lexus isn't a bad choice given their reputation for long-term reliability. But, if you've been living among Earthlings for 7,000 years and are trying to lay low, maybe a brightly colored car with gold underglow isn't the most effective stealth mode.

2022 Nissan Frontier Review | What's New, Price, Specs, Pictures

2022 Nissan Frontier Review | What's new, price, specs, pictures

The 2022 Nissan Frontier represents the first redesign of Nissan's midsize pickup in many years. Although it still shares some bones with its predecessor and hardly feels like the most modern vehicle to drive, the changes are substantial enough that it's finally a serious competitor again. It features updated styling, a much higher-quality interior and a refined, powerful engine and transmission. It's not perfect, but nothing in the segment is, and it has a number of highlights that could make it the perfect truck for your particular needs.

Specifically, the Frontier is a really good driver's truck. It has a quality and stylish interior that's comfortable with great visibility. It has a remarkably smooth and powerful V6 with a similarly slick transmission. It also offers impressive handling for a small truck. These aspects add up to a truck that trades some maximum capability (space, towing and payload) for a more enjoyable daily drive. If that sounds good to you, the Frontier needs to be near the top of your shopping list.

Toyota Chief Scientist: Not Everyone Should Drive A Battery Ev

Toyota chief scientist: Not everyone should drive a battery EV

Many people are passionate about climate change, but not everybody should drive a battery electric vehicle as a means to combat it, Toyota Motor Corp Chief Scientist Gill Pratt said on Thursday at the Reuters Events Automotive Summit.

Pratt's comments, during a discussion on electric vehicles, appeared to amplify remarks made over the past year by Toyota President Akio Toyoda.

Toyota Tundra Capstone Peak Luxury Trim In The Works?

Toyota Tundra Capstone peak luxury trim in the works?

Toyota may be poised to introduce a new luxury-spec trim for its redesigned 2022 Tundra. Footage of a hybrid model sporting shiny wheels, chrome trim and a "Capstone" badge (reportedly leaked via Reddit) has been making the rounds, suggesting that the new trim may be revealed next year as a competitor to the likes of Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 Limited models, the Chevy Silverado High Country and the GMC Sierra Denali.

Per Pickup Truck + SUV Talk, the truck was caught in a lineup of new Tundras being displayed outside one of Toyota's Texas facilities. While the footage was eventually deleted, a screenshot grabbed by a viewer clearly confirms the trim name and some of its exterior features. While Toyota's outgoing Tundra has a merely functional interior, the updated model, which offers a better-riding coil-spring suspension, provides an excellent jumping-off point for Toyota to explore more luxurious options.

Lexus Unveils Uk - Only Lc Black Inspiration

Lexus unveils UK-only LC Black Inspiration

Lexus revealed yet another special edition of its LC halo model, this time targeting the coupe model and destined for the UK market. Dubbed "Black Inspiration," it's exactly what it sounds like, only with a nice, British twist. The blacked out look is certainly nothing new, but the LC certainly wears it well.

The finish is called Graphite Black, and like all paint codes for the LC, it's ostensibly unique to the car. Don't bother looking for subtle contrasts or two-tone treatments. Everything from the spindle grille, door mirror casings, headlight and rear light cluster surrounds to the housings for the headlight washers has been done in Graphite Black.

2022 Honda Civic Si Revealed As A Careful Evolution | Specs, Pictures

2022 Honda Civic Si revealed as a careful evolution | Specs, pictures

SIGNAL HILL, Calif. — The majority of Americans may see the 2022 Honda Civic as a trusty but mundane economy offering, but that's a bad rap. Sport variants of the Honda Civic have been part of the company's North American offerings for nearly 40 years, dating way back to the nameplate's second generation.

It all began in 1983 with the Honda Civic S hatchback. The "i" wasn't part of the name yet, as it didn't yet use electronic fuel injection, though it did come with a larger 1.5-liter engine than the standard 1.3, and it was visually denoted with red pinstriping and a red "S" badge.
