6,264 New Coronavirus Cases Confirmed In Tokyo On Sunday

Japan's health ministry said 6,264 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Tokyo on Sunday.

The tally increased by 2,566 from the same day last week and was 1.69 times the figure a week ago.

The number of seriously ill patients in the capital on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines was unchanged from the previous day at 18.

Authorities confirmed one death linked to the coronavirus.
