Cumulative Total Of New Coronavirus Cases In Japan Exceeds 10 Mil. On Thursday

Confirmed new cases of the coronavirus across Japan exceeded 10 million on Thursday since the pandemic started.
More than 80 percent of the cumulative total, or over 8.2 million, have been reported since January, when the Omicron variant became dominant in the country.
As of January 1, about 1.73 million new cases as a cumulative total had been reported.
Data compiled by researchers at Johns Hopkins University show that as of Thursday, a cumulative total of 89.22 million new cases had been confirmed in the US, 43.68 million in India, 33.07 million in Brazil, 32.88 million in France, 29.46 million in Germany, 23.28 million in Britain, 19.77 million in Italy, 18.64 million in South Korea and 18.20 million in Russia since the pandemic started.
In all these countries, the numbers of new cases have increased rapidly since the Omicron variant started to spread.
