Health Ministry Confirms 6,922 New Covid Cases In Tokyo On Sunday

Japan's health ministry says 6,922 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Tokyo on Sunday.

The daily tally increased by 652 from a week earlier, and marks the ninth straight day of week-on-week increases.

The number of seriously ill patients in the capital on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines was 21, up one from Saturday.

Authorities confirmed three deaths linked to the coronavirus.

Nationwide, the ministry reported 68,894 new cases and 67 deaths on Sunday.
