Health Ministry Reports 2,714 New Coronavirus Cases In Tokyo On Sunday

Japan's health ministry says it confirmed 2,714 new cases of the coronavirus in Tokyo on Sunday.

The daily tally is up 471 from a week ago.

Officials say four deaths were confirmed in the capital.

The number of seriously ill patients on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines is nine, unchanged from Saturday.

Nationwide, officials confirmed 29,662 new cases and 47 deaths on Sunday.
