Japan: North Korea's Provocations Can Never Be Tolerated
Japan's top government spokesperson has condemned North Korea following South Korea's announcement that a North Korean ship crossed the de facto inter-Korean maritime border.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno Hirokazu told a news conference on Monday that North Korea's series of provocations can never be tolerated.
Matsuno said North Korea's repeated ballistic missile launches and other actions pose an imminent threat to the peace and security of Japan, the region and the international community.
He said he will refrain from commenting on each of the North's military moves due to the nature of the matter.
Matsuno said Japan will continue to closely coordinate with the United States and South Korea, and do its utmost to collect and analyze necessary information. He added that Japan will also bolster surveillance.
