Japan To Send 1,000 Entrepreneurs To Silicon Valley Over 5 Years

Japan's economy minister says the country will send 1,000 Japanese entrepreneurs and business development executives to Silicon Valley over the next five years.
The figure is a 10-fold increase from the current level in a bid to give Japanese industries a competitive edge in global markets.
Economy Minister Hagiuda Koichi announced the plan on Wednesday after a visit to Stanford University and Google in California.
He said "When 1,000 people bring Silicon Valley dynamics back to Japan, the startup scene will change completely."
The program is designed to nurture people who aim to set up a business by giving them the chance to present their plans to corporate managers and investors in the innovation hub.
