Japan Tourist Sites Crowded On Last Day Of Covid - 19 Quasi - Emergency Measures

Sightseers thronged tourist sites in Japanese prefectures covered by coronavirus quasi-emergency measures on Monday, a national holiday, the final day before the restrictions are lifted.
The anti-virus restrictions measures have been in place in 18 of the country's 47 prefectures. They include Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Ishikawa.
Many people strolled through the scenic Arashiyama district, one of Kyoto's most popular tourist spots.
A sightseer noticed that the number of visitors had significantly recovered. She said she will keep her guard up against the virus during the coming cherry-blossom viewing season, when many people are expected to catch the virus despite the lifting of the measures.
Another tourist said people should maintain anti-infection precautions for the time being and that he hopes life will gradually return to normal.
Shoppers crowded a morning market in the city of Wajima in Ishikawa, in a turnaround from a tourism slump last month.
The head of the market association said he hopes many customers will keep on coming.
