Nidec Posts Record Sales, Net Profit Amid Weak Yen
Japanese electronics parts maker Nidec posted record sales and net profit in the first half of the fiscal year as the yen weakened.
Nidec says its group sales in the April-to-September period came to 1.13 trillion yen, or about 7.6 billion dollars, which is up 24 percent in yen terms from the same period last year.
Net profit was 86.6 billion yen, or roughly 580 million dollars, representing a 30 percent jump.
The company says it saw brisk sales of motors for electronic devices such as home appliances and power generators.
