People In Japan Place Flowers On Altars Ahead Of Abe's State Funeral

People in Japan have been placing flowers on altars to honor former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo since Tuesday morning.
Two altars have been set up at Kudanzaka Park, which is located near Nippon Budokan in central Tokyo. Abe's state funeral will be held at Nippon Budokan on Tuesday afternoon.
People started placing flowers on the altars at around 9:30 a.m. That was earlier than planned because more people than expected had gathered.
The mourners waited in line. Then, one after another, they laid flowers down and prayed in front of a portrait of the late former prime minister.
