Tokyo Reports 1,528 New Cases Of Coronavirus

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government confirmed 1,528 new cases of the coronavirus in the capital on Tuesday.

The figure is down 272 from a week ago, marking a 32nd straight day of week-on-week decline.

Tokyo officials say the number of seriously ill patients on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines was zero, down four from Monday.

This is the first time the capital has had no COVID-19 patients with serious symptoms since April 27 in 2020, when officials began such reporting.
