Tokyo Reports 18,423 New Covid Cases
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported 18,423 new cases of the coronavirus on Friday.
The daily tally for the capital is down about 9,200 from a week ago.
The seven-day average through Friday was about 22,000. That's down nearly 15 percent from the previous week.
Tokyo officials said 25 people died from the virus.
They also said the number of patients on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines stood at 38, unchanged from Thursday.
