Tokyo Reports 30,970 New Cases Of Coronavirus On Saturday

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported 30,970 new cases of the coronavirus on Saturday.

The daily tally was down 2,496 from a week earlier.

Tokyo officials also reported 13 deaths.

They said there were 37 seriously ill patients on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines, down one from Friday.

Across Japan, authorities reported 227,563 new infections on Saturday.
