Tokyo Reports 9,988 New Coronavirus Cases On Saturday

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported 9,988 new cases of coronavirus infection on Saturday.

The number is down more than 2,500 from a week earlier.

The daily tally in the capital has now fallen week-on-week for 20 straight days.

Tokyo officials say 27 people died from the virus.

They also say the number of seriously ill patients on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines is 30, down two from Friday.
