'tornado - Like' Wind Damages Buildings In Kanazawa, Central Japan
A tornado-like wind damaged some buildings in Kanazawa City on the Japan Sea coast on Sunday afternoon.
The Meteorological Agency says the possible tornado was formed when atmospheric conditions became unstable due to a cold front.
The glass roof at the entrance of a museum was shattered.
The museum's manager says he heard a large sound and saw what looked like white mist spinning around. He added that he feels relieved as no visitors were injured.
The roof of a nearby building was blown off and power lines were cut.
A man said a whirling spiral of dust and building materials was moving with a roaring sound and it felt dangerous.
