Olympic And Paralympic Broadcast Center Opens

The main broadcast center for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics has opened, one month before the event is due to kick off on July 23.
The International Broadcast Centre opened its doors on Wednesday in the East Halls of the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center in Koto Ward. The venue will be used as a media hub during the Games.
An information office and cafe were among the first facilities to open.
Five broadcasters, including organizations from outside Japan, have already begun setting up studios, installing equipment and making final preparations for the Games.
More than 100 broadcasters are expected to work at the venue. They will distribute more than 9,500 hours of visual content to the world, including the opening ceremony.
Anti-coronavirus measures are being enforced at the center. People are being asked to take their temperature and disinfect hands at the entrance. Acrylic dividers have also been set up at eating facilities.
The International Olympic Committee says it expects 70 to 80 percent of members of the media to be vaccinated by the opening of the event.
