TOKYO — An explosion was reported at Honda Motor Co Ltd's plant in central Japan, police said on Sunday, with two workers sent to the hospital with burns.

Two workers in their 20s, who were checking the switchboard, were injured and sent to be treated, the officer said.

1k-mile Honda S2000 Up For Auction On Bring A Trailer

1k-mile Honda S2000 up for auction on Bring a Trailer

The Honda S2000 roadster has begun to catch fire with collectors, and this example currently up for auction on Bring a Trailer will only fan the flames. It has just over 1,000 miles on the odometer, making it effectively a new car.

This 2007-model S2000 is an AP2-generation car from the penultimate year of production. This one is Silverstone Metallic with a black leather interior and a black power top. The 2.2-liter F22C1 VTEC inline-four has an 8,000-rpm redline and makes 237 horsepower. It's backed by a six-speed stick shift and a Torsen limited-slip differential. The seller acquired the car from the original owner in Texas last year. Although this S2000 doesn't appear to have any immediate needs, the new owner may be happy to know that Honda has begun remanufacturing parts for the S2000.

2020 Honda Jazz First Drive | What's New, Next-generation Honda Fit, Hybrid

2020 Honda Jazz First Drive | What's new, next-generation Honda Fit, hybrid

With roughly 7.5 million sold in 20 years, it's safe to say people love the Honda Fit, or as it's called in Europe and elsewhere, the Jazz. "Elsewhere" would be the key term since Honda's versatile subcompact hatchback is not only sold all over the world, it has also been built in 10 plants in eight different countries, including China, where the authorities were so honored to have a Fit factory within their borders, they allowed Honda an unprecedented larger share in the joint venture.

A major reason is safety, which was highlighted from the very beginning. I attended the original launch at Honda's Tochigi R&D center in Japan, which started with a crash test. The 2,535-pound Fit was subjected to an offset impact with a six-year-old, 4,030-pound Honda Legend sedan at a closing speed of 62 mph. When our ears stopped ringing, the Fit's crash-test dummy passengers were shaken but intact, the doors opened and the passenger cell retained its shape. The Legend's passengers didn't fare so well, with the pedal box detaching from the firewall taking the driver dummy's feet with it.

Cyberattack On Honda Still Affects Production

Cyberattack on Honda still affects production

Honda Motor says production remains halted at one of its factories in the United States due to a cyberattack on the company's internal computer network.

The cyberattack caused a problem with the network on Monday, affecting production and shipments at the car maker's plants in Japan and overseas.

Honda Factories Paralyzed By Ransomware Cyberattack

Honda factories paralyzed by ransomware cyberattack

Honda has suspended automobile and motorcycle production at several facilities around the globe due to a suspected ransomware cyberattack. According to reports in Japan, domestic production is back online and shipments are flowing out of its Japanese plants. Facilities in Ohio, where popular models like the Accord and CR-V are produced along with the Acura ILX, TSX and NSX, as well as those in Turkey, India and Brazil are reportedly still offline.

"On Sunday, June 7, Honda experienced a disruption in its computer network that has caused a loss of connectivity, thus impacting our business operations," Honda said in a statement. "Our information technology team is working quickly to assess the situation."

Honda Tags Civic Type R, Rdx, Accord, And More In Fuel Pump Recall

Honda tags Civic Type R, RDX, Accord, and more in fuel pump recall

American Honda Motor Company's recent issues with fuel pumps continue, as a new recall affects a large number of Honda and Acura vehicles from the 2018-2020 model years. The recall covers a total of 136,057 vehicles, including select 2018-2019 Acura NSX, 2019 Acura RDX, RLX, and RLX Sport Hybrid models, as well as 2018-2019 Honda Accords, Civic Hatchbacks, Civic Type Rs, HR-Vs, 2019-2020 Insights, and 2019 Fits.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration campaign No. 20V314000, published May 28, 2020, states that the low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tanks of the aforementioned vehicles could falter or completely fail. Should the low-pressure fuel pump fail, the car could stall, regardless of its state of motion.

2000 Honda Civic Si Sells For $50,000 At Bring A Trailer Auction

2000 Honda Civic Si sells for $50,000 at Bring a Trailer auction

A Honda Civic just sold for $50,000. And no, it's not the brand new 2021 Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition that was announced earlier this year. While that one may seem prime for a $50,000 MSRP, the Civic we're talking about is much older. It's an Electron Blue 2000 Honda Civic Si, an EM1, if you're fluent in Honda lingo.

We promise that there is no typo on the price. Someone just won the auction on Bring a Trailer for $50,000 even. The car in question has 5,600 miles on the odometer and will now be going to its third owner. It's about as perfect as it gets from an aesthetic and mechanical standpoint, though it does have an unsightly aftermarket Pioneer head unit installed in the dash.

Canada's Limited-edition 2021 Honda Civic Type Rs Sold Out In Minutes

Canada's limited-edition 2021 Honda Civic Type Rs sold out in minutes

As the top-of-the-lineup performance variant, the Civic Type R is already a rarified vehicle, and Honda added to the car's legendary mystique with a limited-edition model for 2021. The Canadian market was restricted to only 100 examples of the special edition, and all 100 recently sold out within four minutes of the order books opening. That's quicker than the 2017 Type R's Nürburgring lap record.

The 2021 Type R LE, which is offered exclusively in Phoenix Yellow, offers slight apperance tweaks, as well as a lighter overall package. It features 20-inch BBS lightweight forged aluminum wheels that reduce unsprung weight by 18 pounds total, and those wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber. Weight has further been cut by reducing the use of sound-deadening materials, though Honda does not get into details about where the materials were affected.

2000 Honda Civic Si For Auction On Bring A Trailer

2000 Honda Civic Si for auction on Bring a Trailer

This Honda Civic Si was a neat car when it was introduced — it got noticed. Besides the exclusive Electron Blue paint job, those in the know would recognize it packed a special 1.6-liter VTEC engine producing 160 horsepower at a screaming 8,000 rpm (the regular Civic topped out at 127 horsepower). The Si also had a stiffer suspension with progressive rate springs, upgraded roll bars, a tower brace and lower-profile tires for improved handling. A five-speed manual was mandatory, which refreshingly is exactly the same as today's Honda Civic Si. Bravo. However, this Si didn't have ABS, which always struck me as odd since it was available on the cheaper EX.

Despite all this well-deserved fanfare at the time, however, the Civic Si didn't exactly scream "collector's item, store me in a garage for 20 years!" And yet, somebody basically did just that after buying this car in 2004. So what you have here, up for auction on Bring a Trailer, is a brand-new Honda Civic Si. It would be a hoot to drive, a pleasant reminder of a simpler time, but also a barely driven old Honda Civic that should theoretically be as easy to maintain as, well, a barely driven old Honda. It's really the prime example of such a thing.

2020 Honda Cr-v Hybrid Vs 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Turbo S E-hybrid

2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid vs 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Turbo S E-Hybrid

We do our best around here to provide sound consumer advice, which is why there shall be no stone left unturned and no consumer unrepresented in our efforts to be fully inclusive of the car-buying public. Let's say for instance you're interested in buying an SUV, but would really prefer it to be a hybrid. Fair enough, there's a decent number of those. Good ones, too.

Now, let's say it really needs to be a shade of reddish orange, or perhaps, orangey-red. Either way, it's gotta be right there in the magma spectrum. OK, this has gotten trickier. Also, you have anywhere between $28,000 and $200,000 to spend, the result of being both the millionaire inventor of some internet widget thing but also really pragmatic with an eye for good value.

2020 Honda Pilot Black Edition: We Test All Its Interior Storage

2020 Honda Pilot Black Edition: We test all its interior storage

Everything you're about to see and read about the 2020 Honda Pilot and its interior storage applies to every trim level. However, this test was conducted on the new, range-topping Pilot Black Edition, which as the implies, blacks out virtually all exterior trim and makes the wheels black. Inside, since everything's awfully black to begin with, red is added to the seats and center console tray/cover.

To fully immerse myself in the mindset of a Black Edition owner, I dressed entirely in black (also, why not?) and brought along some suitably black beverage containers to fill the 16 cupholders. Oh and my wife's black purse. She's not using it these days anyway; didn't notice it was gone.
