Remember When Aston Martin Rebadged A Toyota Hatch?

Remember When Aston Martin Rebadged A Toyota Hatch?

While the idea of an Aston Martin SUV may have rubbed a few people the wrong way, it is far from the only controversial vehicle released by the British manufacturer. Arguably the most contentious Aston Martin ever was the Cygnet city car, based on the Toyota iQ of the day.

2021 Nissan Rogue Shown Sans Disguise In Leaked Images

2021 Nissan Rogue shown sans disguise in leaked images

Nissan has already re-affirmed its commitment to launching an all-new version of its venerable Rogue crossover this fall, and new images purporting to be that vehicle have surfaced on a French web forum, giving us our best look yet at the automaker's best-selling model, inside and out.

So far we've seen the new Rogue in camouflage and crude black-and-white digital renderings from a patent filing in Brazil. The new images, from the Worldscoop forum, line up pretty closely to the latter images. They show a crossover that appears to have been hitting the gym since its last refresh in 2017, with more athletic lines and angles, a larger V-motion grille, redesigned headlights and a more upright, boxy rear end with a pronounced silver skid plate and more extensive plastic cladding.

Manhart Gives The Toyota Gr Supra A Power Boost

Manhart gives the Toyota GR Supra a power boost

Manhart Performance founder Christoph Erfurt holds a simple ethos for his company: "We turn good cars into very special cars." For 2020, Manhart launched a new program that attempts to do just that with the Toyota GR Supra.

Manhart has upgraded the Supra to have more power, better handling, and some extra style points. The turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 under the hood originally makes 335 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque, but with Manhart's MHtronik powerbox, electronic control unit (ECU) remapping, and a new exhaust system, the Supra is said to produce 440–450 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.

2021 Toyota Gr Supra Fuel Economy Numbers Are Out

2021 Toyota GR Supra fuel economy numbers are out

Toyota surprised us all with its 2021 Supra announcement a few months ago. After only one model year, the turbocharged inline-six is revised for more horsepower, and the whole chassis has been re-tuned for sharper handling. Output went from 335 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque, to 382 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque. Predictably, the extra speed has resulted in slightly worse fuel economy numbers.

Motor Trend spotted the news first, and now the numbers are official on the EPA's fuel economy reporting website. We've laid them out below.

Lexus Lq Expected To Top The Brand's Crossover Offerings By 2022

Lexus LQ expected to top the brand's crossover offerings by 2022

When Lexus debuted the LF-1 Limitless crossover concept at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, Lexus' U.S. general manager waited roughly six minutes to tell the world, as a way of hinting to HQ in Japan, "We have to build this vehicle." Car and Driver says the GM and his dealers will get their wish when the Lexus LQ crossover takes the top spot in the automaker's range in 2022.

Underneath the "molten katana" design language that looks like an RX sent back from the future to kill an RX named Sarah Connor, we'll find the inner workings of the LS sedan, possibly including the luxury-specific TNGA-L rear- and all-wheel-drive platform. Engines could be ported straight from the LS stable for standard LQ models, meaning — for now — a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 with 416 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque, and a 3.5-liter V6 helped by two electric motors to produce a combined 354 hp. An LQ F or F Sport model could bolt up the impending twin-turbo V8 and cross the 600-hp mark.

Mazda Gives Free Oil Changes To Medical Workers Fighting Coronavirus

Mazda gives free oil changes to medical workers fighting coronavirus

During the hard times caused by the coronavirus pandemic, automakers are helping any way they can, big or small. Mazda is one of those offering support specifically for the nation's healthcare workers who are risking their own lives in order to save others. Mazda calls it the Essential Car Care Program (ECCP), and it offers free upkeep to any healthcare workers with a car, not just a Mazda.

Through the ECCP,  Mazda is offering healthcare workers free oil changes and "enhanced cleaning services." The program begins April 16, 2020, and will run through select participating dealerships. To repeat, this is not only for people who drive Mazdas, it's for anybody working in healthcare. Mazda says it is "available for most makes and models from other manufacturers," excluding exotics, classic cars, off-road vehicles, and vehicles that take more than eight quarts of oil. The offer is available for service on one car per program period.
