2022 Subaru Brz Order Books Are Closed

2022 Subaru BRZ order books are closed

Subaru confirmed Thursday that the sold order allotment for the 2022 BRZ has been reached, meaning customers can no longer place individual orders for the model year. Dealers still have incoming retail allocations and customers can still buy off the lot, but those who want to order one exactly how they'd like will have to wait for slots in the 2023 allocation.

According to the ft86club.com forum, some customers were told last week that they could no longer place orders for 2022 BRZs. A dealer communication indicated that hot initial demand for the updated coupe had caused a bit of a run on initial allotments, with more than 1,000 units being sold in December alone.

Toyota Gr Corolla Details Further Leak Ahead Of Production

Toyota GR Corolla details further leak ahead of production

The Drive's source inside Toyota's dealer network has been spilling secrets again. Last time, the source told the outlet that a Toyota Supra with a manual transmission is "confirmed" and could be here as soon as this year. This time the subject sticks to the sporty side and with confirmation of rumors, these having to do with the GR Corolla. It's not so much that there's new information here, but that a claimed insider is corroborating what we've heard. The dealer source says the automaker put a camouflaged prototype of the hot hatch on display at the same Las Vegas event last year where a manual Supra supposedly made an appearance.

The car will be called either the GR Corolla or the Corolla GR-Four. If the latter name makes the cut, the number will apply to the all-wheel-drive system, not the engine. The 1.6-liter three-cylinder is expected to do nigh-on 300 horsepower and send power through the Yaris' six-speed manual transmission and mechanical AWD setup with a center differential and varying torque splits front-to-back.

Hybrid Toyota Yaris Rally Car Revealed, Ready To Tackle Monte - Carlo

Hybrid Toyota Yaris rally car revealed, ready to tackle Monte-Carlo

The new regulations coming into effect for the 2022 season of the World Rally Championship (WRC) bring together two of Toyota's areas of expertise: hybrid technology and racing. The Japanese firm unveiled the gasoline-electric Yaris it designed to compete on dirt, snow and ice.

Loosely shaped like the Yaris hatchback sold in global markets, the Rally1-spec car is built on a dedicated spaceframe chassis. It's a two-door model, like the street-legal GR Yaris, and it features a full body kit that includes a front splitter, flared wheel arches, plus a gigantic rear wing. The last-generation Yaris rally car wore a similar body kit, but the Rally1 gains a pair of pod-like vents mounted on the quarter panels.

2022 Lexus Lx 600 Starts At Nearly $90,000

2022 Lexus LX 600 starts at nearly $90,000

Lexus unveiled pricing for the 2022 LX 600 SUV by uploading the new truck's configurator. Financially, there's good news for American shoppers who want the 300-series Toyota Land Cruiser but can't have it: the LX 600 isn't much more expensive than the outgoing Toyota. Last year's two-row, entry-level Land Cruiser started at $85,665 after destination. The entry-level, two-row 2022 LX 600 starts at $88,245 after the $1,345 destination fee — which has gone up by $50 — an increase of $2,580, but for the completely new model with additional luxury trimmings. The price difference is even less between LX generations, with the new one costing a scant $470 more than the 2021 LX 570. Pricing for all five trims is below.

All trims sit on the same TNGA-F body-on-frame chassis as the Land Cruiser and are powered by a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 making 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Power goes to all four wheels through a ten-speed automatic transmission. The Lexus features adjustable ride height and suspension stiffness. The former adjusts automatically between low for easier access, normal for pavement driving and two lifted heights for off-roading. And to assist with off-roading, the Lexus gets Crawl Control off-road cruise control, multiple terrain modes including an automatic one, and surround cameras that even show under the truck to help avoid banging together rocks and vulnerable parts of the car.

2023 Toyota Sequoia Coming Into View With New Teaser

2023 Toyota Sequoia coming into view with new teaser

At this point, the Toyota Sequoia seems about as old as the trees it's named after. But part of that was because it was based on the previous-generation Tundra, which was also really darn old. But there's a new version of the truck, now, so it's not that surprising the company is teasing the new SUV, too.

Toyota didn't quite come out and say that explicitly, but there are some clear hints. The press release had the headline "The Next Big Thing from Toyota," emphasis ours. And most clear was the following sentence revealed after playing with the exposure of the teaser: "The forest, and its trees, almost in view."

Toyota Debuts Grille - Tastic Noah And Voxy Minivans

Toyota debuts grille-tastic Noah and Voxy minivans

There's currently an arms race going on among grille designers of full-size pickups. From the Chevy Silverado to Toyota Tundra the theme seems to be, the more frontal area you can occupy with a grille, the better. But, what if that same concept was applied to a smaller car, like a compact minivan? Worry not, friends, for Toyota has answered that question.

Behold, the 2022 Toyota Noah and Voxy, a pair of twinned minivans for the Japanese market. If they look super boxy, that's because they are. Japan has several road tax brackets according to engine displacement and overall width, so, like kei cars, these vans are built to the very limit of what is allowed dimensionally. If there were multiple minivan classes in the US, these the Noah and Voxy would slot below a Sienna. Think Mazda 5, though it's not a direct comparison.
