Sony’s full-frame mirrorless lineup consists of their A7 and A9 series, with the A9 being aimed more at working professionals who might need some of the features offered in the camera that isn’t available in the A7. However, it seems that Sony has since stepped things up an extra notch with the launch of the Sony Alpha 1 (A1).

This is the latest full-frame mirrorless camera from Sony and it seems that the company is definitely targeting a different crowd from its A7 and A9 series. The A1 features a 50MP Exmor RS stacked CMOS sensor coupled with Sony’s Bionz XR image processor. It can shoot at a whopping 30 frames-per-second ans is also capable of capturing 8K video at 30fps.

One of the problems with listening to audio on our smartphones is that it isn’t quite as good compared to dedicated speakers or even a proper set of headphones. This is because speakers on our smartphones are tiny and given the size of our phones, it doesn’t leave a lot of space for it to vibrate, which in turns does affect the overall sound quality.

This doesn’t mean that they are bad, smartphone speakers have come a long way since then, and it looks like Netflix will be helping improve on that front. The company has recently announced an update to its Android app where the app will now support the streaming of audio in xHE-AAC. This means that users should be able to expect much better sound quality coming from their speakers.

It used to be that back in the day, platform-exclusive messaging apps were a thing. For example, BlackBerry Messenger used to be so popular that people would actually buy BlackBerry phones just to use it. These days, the focus is more on cross-platform compatibility.

However, there are still some holdouts, such as Apple’s iMessage which is still exclusive to Apple’s iOS and macOS devices. However, thanks to the work of Eric Migicovsky, the CEO and founder of the Pebble smartwatch, he has since created a new app called Beeper that will bring iMessage to multiple platforms.

Unlike Sony, who are known for their mirrorless cameras, Nikon is known more for their DSLRs. However, the company is hoping to catch up in the mirrorless market segment, so much so that the company has recently stated that for the time being, their focus will be mostly on their mirrorless camera lineup.

So what does this mean? For those who love Nikon’s DSLR cameras and are hoping to see some new products or new innovations in that area, it would seem that you might have to wait. The comments made by Nikon indicate that the company would be prioritizing their mirrorless cameras first before they turn their attention back to their DSLRs.

As Sony is trying to ramp up production of its PS5 console, it seems that scalpers are continuing to take advantage of the shortage in consoles, which we suppose was something that they had a hand in, at least in part. According to a recent tweet by Carnage, a scalper group based in the UK, they have boasted that they have secured an additional 2,000 units of the PS5.

They also claimed that it has been extremely easy, despite the fact that Sony and retailers have put in measures to try and combat bots and scalpers. The concept of scalping isn’t new, although it seems to be a particularly huge problem with the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. Recent estimates have suggested that to date, scalpers have made over $50 million from their efforts, which is really amazing when you think about it.

There are several VR headsets in the market at the moment, but for the most part, a lot of them are really bulky. To help combat this, Panasonic has actually been developing their own pair of VR glasses that are designed to look like glasses. According to the company, the idea is that this will make it more lightweight than current designs, and will also make it easier to put on and take on.

The company actually unveiled the device back in CES 2020, but it seems that for this year, they are back with an improved version of it, although unfortunately due to CES 2021 not being held in person, we haven’t gotten a chance to see it for ourselves. However, the folks at AVWatch in Japan were invited to a special hands-on event where they got to try it out.

If there is one thing to love about the Nintendo Switch is the various customization options that  users have when it comes to colors. If you’ve yet to hop on board the Switch bandwagon or maybe you don’t mind getting another one, then you might be interested to learn that Nintendo has since unveiled a new Mario themed Switch in red and blue.

This is obviously themed after the clothes that Mario wears, which is colored in red and blue, and we have to say that this is probably one of the best themed Switches we’ve seen in a while. The color combinations are striking and it also seems that Nintendo will also be selling a red and blue case for the Switch as well.

At CES 2021, TCL released the TCL 20 5G, their next-generation affordable 5G phone, destined to reinforce TCL’s position in that space further.

When we think of smart TVs, we think of TVs that come with features like the ability to support apps, streaming services, and more. However, it seems that Sony is really trying to redefine what we know as a smart TV because ahead of CES 2021, the company has announced a new lineup of Bravia TVs that will be powered by Sony’s Cognitive Processor XR.

According to Sony, “Cognitive Processor XR, powered by cognitive intelligence, divides the screen into numerous zones and detects where the “focal point” is in the picture. While conventional Artificial Intelligence (AI) can only detect and analyze picture elements like color, contrast and detail individually, the new processor can cross-analyze an array of elements at once, just as our brains do.”

There are many gimbals in the market today, and for the most part, they’re sold separately from the camera. This means that you would need to own a camera to really take advantage of it. However, DJI did try to create an all-in-one solution with the Osmo Pocket, and it looks like Canon wants to do something similar as well.

According to a report from Canon News, they have discovered a patent filed by Canon that revealed that the company could be working on a gimbal with a built-in camera. However, Canon isn’t just looking to make a Osmo Pocket copycat, but rather it seems that the company wants to take things further by introducing an interchangeable lens system to the game.

For those unfamiliar, the Starlight Nintendo console was actually rolled out back in 2019 where it was initially available at the Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma, Washington, but now it seems that Nintendo will be expanding on its availability to more locations around the US.

This isn’t a new console per se, but rather it’s based on the Nintendo Switch, with some slight modifications to help make them easier to move around a hospital setting and go from room to room.

The Nintendo Switch is powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra chipset, which unlike Intel processors, is based on the ARM architecture. This means, at least in theory, that games playable on the Switch should also be playable on other ARM-based devices, like Apple’s new M1 Mac computers, right?

Yup, that would be correct because according to developer Sera Tonin Brocious, it seems that she has successfully managed to emulate Switch games on an M1 Mac computer. Now before you get too excited, first of all this is by no means an official method of running Switch games, and we’re sure that Nintendo probably won’t be too pleased with the idea.
