Covid - 19 Daily Tally Remains High In Japan
Japanese authorities had reported 2,984 new coronavirus cases as of 9 p.m. on Saturday.
They reported 37 deaths, including ten in Hokkaido, nine in Osaka and five in Tokyo.
The overall total of confirmed cases in the country now stands at 197,458, including 712 from a cruise ship.
The tally of confirmed deaths has reached 2,891, including 13 from the vessel.
Health ministry officials say the number of patients in serious condition being treated at intensive care units or with ventilators was 598 on Saturday.
Meanwhile, 163,967 people, including 659 passengers and crew members from the cruise ship, have recovered or improved, and left hospital.
